Incarnation - God With Us - Advent 2023

The world was a dark place, and there was a great yearning and need for healing and someone to illuminate and bring light and cast out the darkness. To this world, John shared some of the greatest news possible, “In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (Jn. 1:4-5) John was speaking about Jesus here. Jesus would come to the world he created, to his own people, and he would become human to do so. He is Immanuel, God with us. And he is the Light of the world and the one whom the darkness cannot overcome. This is precisely the truth that we will celebrate and lean into over our Advent teaching series this November and December. During Advent, we remember when the Light of the world arrived and brought new life to those trapped in darkness. Make sure you join us this Christmas season as we remember the birth of Jesus and the moment that God incarnate came to earth, and a great light shone in the darkness that is the hope for all people. Join us beginning November 26th for our Advent teaching series: Incarnation: God is with us.
