Advent: Light in the Darkness

November 28th-December 19th, 2021 The world was a dark place, and there was a great yearning and need for healing and someone to illuminate and bring light and cast out the darkness. To this world, John shared some of the greatest news possible, “In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (Jn. 1:4-5) John was speaking about Jesus here. He is the Light of the world and the one whom the darkness cannot overcome. This is precisely the truth that we will celebrate and lean into over our Advent teaching series, "Light in the Darkness" this November and December. During Advent, we remember when the Light of the world arrived and brought new life for those trapped in darkness.
